In the event an officer of the city is selected to serve on one (1) or more of the
city's boards of trustees for the general employees retirement system, the police
officers retirement system, or the volunteer firefighters system, such trustee service
shall be ex officio to his or her other office, regardless of the manner in which
such trustee is seated. The duties and responsibilities of trusteeship shall be imposed
in addition to and as part of the duties and responsibilities of such person's other
office. The words "officer" and "office" as used herein shall include all persons
who are officers or who hold an office for the purpose of Art. II, Sec. 5(a), Florida
Constitution.
